About the Publisher
Publisher Michelle Mears has worked in journalism for 22 years. She began reporting on California in 2000 at a television station that aired on CNN every half hour in Northern San Diego. She then moved onto weekly papers covering North County San Diego to the Temecula Valley. Prior to coming to Southern California Michelle worked as a news reporter for PBS in Minnesota and for a military news station at Fort Benning Army, in Georgia. In 2001 she became the military reporter for the Coast News. Pregnant and the wife of a Marine who was deployed during 9/11 she met the challenge set by her editors to stay fair and balanced in her reporting on the terrorist attacks and war from the homefront.
Mears has also worked as a production assistant on the #1 syndicated TV show Extra helping script write and market products on live television. In addition she was a contributing writer to CBS LA for three years.
