TEMECULA: Thoughts and prayers for the crew of Engine 84 in Temecula, who were involved in an accident earlier today. Very few details of the incident are known at this time, but it happened shortly before 11:00 a.m. along Ynez Road, between Santiago Road and La Paz Road.
The engine appears to have been traveling southbound along Ynez when it crossed the opposing lane and left the roadway, crashing through several trees and a drainage ditch before ending up about 30 or 40 feet off the roadway in a front yard.
Reports are that all three crew members were transported by ground ambulance to be evaluated, but officials at the scene did confirm that the crew was "OK."
It is unknown if the engine was responding to an emergency at the time of the crash, and it is unknown what caused the engine to leave the roadway.
I did not see any other involved vehicles at the scene, but I was not able to access the property where the engine came to rest.
The incident is in the early stages of an investigation, and traffic was not impacted at the time I shot these photos shortly before 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
