A small plane crashed on Interstate 15 North near State Route 76 and Pala Mesa Drive Saturday morning.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported the plane hit a car killing one person and injuring another five.
CHP officers and firefighters responded to the scene of the accident near Pala Road. Traffic is still reported to be heavy on this section of the I-15.
The FAA is advising the units to not move the plane until the FAA is on scene. On Twitter @NorthCountyFire says they are expecting long term traffic problems in both directions so avoid the area if possible.
"Five people were injured. Two were transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital and three were transported to Palomar Hospital," wrote @NorthCountyFire.
The deceased person was in the car according to the CHP.
