The Murrieta Police Department partnered with Murrieta Fire Department and held a “Coffee and Donuts Checkpoint” in the Murrieta Spectrum parking lot.
Representatives from the police department’s command post attended along with the Murrieta Fire Department. Firefighters from Station One, showed off the department’s brand new Quint truck.
The purpose of the coffee and donut checkpoint was to help break down any barriers that may exist between law enforcement and the citizens. The event is taking after the "Coffee with a Cop" national program intended to bring police officers and community members together over coffee.
The event is intended to be free of politics and held in a casual environment that allows both officers and citizens to feel more comfortable engaging in discussion. A major goal of this program is to create a lasting bond between the community and those who serve and protect it.
The nearby Starbucks donated fresh coffee and Murrieta’s newly opened Dunkin' Donuts Murrieta Hot Springs donated delicious donuts.
