From Temecula to the coast we found some fun friendly events to spend with the family, on a date or quality time with your friends. There are fireworks, street painting, art shows and even a matrimony event at the fairgrounds.
Temecula Art Festival and Street Painting
When: Saturday, June 27 9:00 a.m. -9:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where: Old Town Temecula
The Temecula Art Festival once again joins the annual Street Painting for a weekend of art and entertainment. Stroll around Main Street as art comes to life or pick up some chalk and join in the masterpiece making. The weekend includes art displays by local artists, arts and crafts for kids, music and food vendors.
Artists are born and discovered at this festival where families and children are given pastels to create their own masterpiece alongside hundreds of murals masterfully painted by more than 100 fine artists. It is all done on the asphalt canvas of Main Street & Town Square in Old Town Temecula. This is performance art in a large-scale way as fine artists spend two solid days creating masterpieces, originals and reproductions of the grand masters. Most murals are 100 square feet or larger. Live world music provides a creative soundtrack for artists and viewers
Murrieta Birthday Bash
When: Saturday June 27, 2:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
Where: California Oaks Sports Park
Celebrate Murrieta’s 24th Annual Birthday Bash starting at 2p.m. with music from the 70’s and 80’s. At 7p.m tribute band, Rumors will play Fleetwood Mac followed by fireworks at 9 p.m.
This is a family friendly event, food vendors and jumpers for kids will be available.
Menifee Independence Day
When: Saturday June 27 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
Where: Wheatfield Park
The city of Menifee celebrates the Fourth of July Saturday at Wheatfield Park. Come on out with the family to enjoy family games, a BMX bike show, food and craft vendors plus fireworks at 9:00 p.m.
Children can have access to unlimited jumpers for $5. A parade starts at 5:00 p.m along La Piedra Road.
Murrieta Tennis Club
When: Sunday June 28, 2:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Where: Murrieta Tennis Club
Members - Free, Non-Members - $15
Dust off your wooden racquet and dress in all white because the MTC Wood Racquet Social is back. Come out and join us for a fun filled afternoon of some good old-fashioned tennis. RSVP is required. Sign-up in the Tennis Office 951-698-6774. There will also be a potluck. All participants will bring a small dish to share.
Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach
When: June 26 – August 3, 2015
Where: Downtown Laguna Beach
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily
Take a day trip and head to Laguna Beach. The Sawdust Festival is situated closely against the cliffs of Laguna Canyon and is part of the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts. This festival gives visitors a colorful overview of the Laguna art world. The nearly 50-year-old festival debuted in 1964. Thousands of art enthusiasts are drawn to the festival each year. Visitors can stroll along sawdust-covered paths through a handcrafted village and booths operated by unknown and well-known artists.
San Diego County Fair
When: June 5, 2015, through July 5, 2015. Closed Mondays

The theme for the 2015 Fair is “A Fair to Remember A Celebration of the World’s Fairs and Balboa Park.” Since 1880, the San Diego County Fair brings to Southern California all the sights sounds and smells of a traditional summer fair. Once started out as an agricultural event this year visitors can enjoy today special exhibits, fried food such a corndogs and waffles plus a smattering of healthy options.
On Sunday June 28, six couples are getting married at the fair and guests are welcome to watch the couples tie the knot in the Paul Ecke Flower Show area. Albertsons and military bases have discount coupons for tickets. Parking in $10 a day.
