The following was written on the IE Firefighter Facebook Page:
"A reminder of why we use our equipment as a barrier on emergency incidents. Thoughts and prayers for the injured. Sunday morning shortly after 7a.m. RVC E-94 from the City of Lake Elsinore Railroad Canyon fire station was rear ended while working at an earlier traffic collision by a third vehicle.
Our firefighters were not injured although one firefighter was precautionarily taken to a hospital for a check up. The third vehicle driver was trapped, extricated and has been taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries. E-94 incurred serious damage.
Thank you.
