On Thursday April 26, Tami Colosimo was awarded the 67th Assembly District’s Woman of the Year by Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez.
“During the tragic Las Vegas shootings, Tami called upon her extensive medical and military experience and risked her life to tend to the wounded. She worked tirelessly throughout the night, consoling the grieving, applying CPR, wrapping tourniquets, applying pressure to wounds and inserting IVs,” said Melendez.
Colosimo served in the military for 17 years, with three tours of duty, including two tours in Iraq. For her effort, she has received numerous awards including four Army Achievement Medals and three Army Commendation Medals.
Today, Tami works as an emergency room nurse at the Riverside University Health System and Loma Linda Medical Center. She has been an emergency room registered nurse since 2011.
