"In April 2007, at only 8 weeks old, I left my mom, brothers and sisters in Wisconsin to come to Riverside County California. I was brought here to train as a tracking bloodhound and help establish the bloodhound program for Riverside County. It was so long ago, but I remember when I first met my handler Todd Garvin and I am grateful for all the love and training he has given me over the years.
I’m now 9 ½ years old and it is time for me to retire from law enforcement. During my time serving the citizens of Riverside County, I have tracked and followed trails in just about every inch of this place. I have been called into service over 700 times, finding criminals, lost children and helpless souls of all ages. I have participated in every major public event held by the Sheriff’s Department, more K9 demonstrations than I can remember and have felt the kind touch of countless people. I think I will miss them the most!
With the exception of a few minor aches and pains, I’m retiring in good health with no regrets. I have given the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department my best and I had fun training my replacement, K9 Copper. In retirement, I am looking forward to sleeping in, over eating and the daily affections of the Garvin family."
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department would like to thank K9 Inga for her service to the Department and the citizens of Riverside County.
Happy Retirement Inga!
