MENIFEE – The city’s parks department installed a new tot lot — identified as a priority in the city of Menifee’s recently completed Parks Master Plan —at Lazy Creek Park near the recreation center in the enclosed area used by the city’s Tiny Tots program.
The project improves safety by upgrading the enclosed tot lot with state-of-the-art equipment and a rubberized surface underneath. It’s geared toward children ages two to five years, and is open for public use when Tiny Tot classes are not in session.
The new tot lot features a slide, wiggle ladder, alphabet panel, bongo drum panel, a sand play station and much more. The colorful play structure is built by Landscape Structures, a longstanding playground equipment provider. Funding for the tot lot project comes from Park Development Impact Fees (DIF), not through the city’s general fund.
The project will be unveiled at the Tiny Tots Open House event scheduled for Thursday, May 19 from 6 to 7 pm at the Lazy Creek Recreation Center, 26480 Lazy Creek Road. Parents can meet the instructors for the Tiny Tots Summer Camp and the fall session, see new equipment and learning boards and learn about registration details for the summer camp and fall session. Children currently enrolled in the program will present a short performance to round out the evening. Children are welcome to attend.
The Tiny Tot program, for ages three to five years, emphasizes youth development, recreation, fun and parent engagement. For more information or to register, please visit www.cityofmenifee.us/register call (951) 723-3880.
