This Buttermilk Belgian Waffle recipe comes from the Morada Restaurant. The Morada is part of The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, which is nestled in horse country in Southern California.
During a stay at the Inn my son ordered for brunch the Belgian Waffles. He is a huge waffle fan and at age 14 he has been making his own at home for almost three years.
Immediately upon being served Morada’s version we knew we were in for a treat. The waffles were perfectly cooked with a delicious crisp outside and a warm fluffy inside. Inside the waffles were strawberries adding an unexpected sweetness.
The waffles were served with Butternut Mountain Farm Vermont Maple Syrup. The layers of delicate flavors when united created one of our favorite Belgian waffles we had to date.

The folks at Morada were kind enough to share their recipe. It was a lot of fun and very easy to make at home. I was pleasantly surprised to find the recipe we made at home was comparable to the waffles we were served at the restaurant.
