Pizzeria De Milano, at 28276 Old Town Front St. in Temecula, received a failing grade after being inspected on Oct. 10. A score of 80/B was the result of three critical violations. Rat droppings were found by inspector around the fountain machine and in a dry storage area. There were no active infestations and rat traps were found outside. The other two critical violations were food not being kept at a safe temperature and a refrigerator was impounded. Multiple lesser violations, included the kitchen handwashing sink blocked, the employee restroom sink didn’t have soap, uncleaniness and items needing repaired.
Because of a failed restaurant inspection a year ago from a cockroach infestation — the restaurant owners will face an administrative hearing.
