Menifee: Residents of Heritage Lakes in Menifee may notice their commute is less congested this morning in and around McCall Blvd at Junipero. Officials with the City of Menifee spent the last few weeks prepping for a temporary fix to a traffic circulation problem upon a request from Mayor Scott Mann. “I would be remiss if I didn't give a special shout out to my wife, Debra Mann, who suggested this idea in the first place,” said Mann.
For just a few dollars in labor and some paint, city engineers hope to see this Monday morning an improvement in traffic circulation. Those who will directly benefit will be residents who take their children to Boulder Ridge School and commuters getting to the freeway. Mann said City Engineer Jonathan Smith, his Traffic Engineering Team, and City Manager Johnson also worked on the timing of lights to improve the flow of traffic.
“Now, traffic merges at the top of the grade heading west where there is more room,” said Mann, “This will prevent everyone from merging left while everyone else is trying to get their kids to school.”
Mann said the traffic jam was lasting 30-45 minutes every morning. The rest of McCall will be improved when the commercial development comes to the intersection of McCall and Menifee Roads.
